London Town! |
We finally arrived at London, Gatwick Airport and this was a special moment for us both. I left that airport a few years prior, laden with conflicting emotions as I returned home after trying to live there for 6 months. Returning there was strange, but having Carlos at my side made it so much better.
This was Carlos' first time in England and on this side of the world in general. He traveled as much or maybe even more than me but never crossed the Atlantic before. It was great seeing him try to hide his excitement about hearing the European accents everywhere (he often tries to mimic them and fails hilariously). We were again the stereotypical tourists and took pics of whatever silly things we could think of.
We had some quick snacks and navigated our way through to catching the last leg of our flights to Copenhagen, Denmark! I needed a Schengen Visa to go to Denmark, but Carlos didn't because of Venezuelan's ties to Spain so it was pretty entertaining seeing the immigration woman ask him for his visa and then double check that he actually didn't need one (insert personal third-world triumph here).

In the Norwegian plane - exhausted but happy |
The best flight we had
ever was on this last leg of our journey. Norwegian Airlines is
awesome! The fleet of planes were
brand new and the colour scheme was super sleek and sexy with black leatherette seats throughout and bright red accents (the designer in me was well pleased). The customer service was even better than the long flight we were on and the biggest selling point to us -
FREE WiFi DURING THE FLIGHT! Our minds were blown. Loads of Facebook and other social media posts ensued from the comfort of the skies.

We finally arrived in Denmark more than a full day later and the hustle and bustle of the airport kept us excited and happy, although we were exhausted. We took more photos after I used a McDonalds bathroom to try and freshen up, and then we reunited with another bridesmaid who was on the same journey as us, and we all waited on our friends to pick us up. We even got a free Denmark flag which was being handed out to people who arrived!

Next stop - Sweden!
Haha, We can definitely spot Carlos` face while making his first steps in Europe. It must have been the same like ours, when we crossed the Atlantic in the other direction.
