Trinidad to London!

Carlos and I on our way!
After having the most wonderful experience with our first guests, we were excited at the prospect of hosting more people like them. But before we could accept new visitors, it was time for us to embark on our own adventure to go to Sweden!

Carlos and I were SO excited! It was our first international trip together as a couple and what a big trip to start with! The initial flights were frustrating as the tiny LIAT (the taxi-cab of the Caribbean skies) plane took us to about 5 different islands before we could go to Barbados (which is right next to us).

By the time we got on the large, comfortable flight to London I was tired but couldn't get myself to sleep properly. We were so excited to be on a big plane together and we acted like kids, or as we call it in Trinidad "Never See Come See" while we posed with the freebies on the plane and got comfortable.

Carlos as usual was thoroughly enjoying getting alcohol whenever he wanted (Venezuelan + Trinidadian culture = borderline alcoholic) and I was sneaking pics as much as possible to document the experience. We were also loving the real-time map on the video consoles, showing us where we were and how long the trip remained. Although this is probably so common to travelers nowadays we were totally enjoying the novelty of it.

We were finally on our way to the big UK! We were loving the customer service on the flight and the sun was setting beautifully over the Atlantic ocean. Watching the sun felt a little symbolic, like we were embarking on something special and the world was giving us a little wink.

I'm a Caribbean woman with a love for learning as much as I can about cultures all around the world. Sometimes my husband and I get to actually travel and share our Caribbean/Latin American cultures with others... But as we often don't have the funds to travel to our hearts content, we love hosting guests from all around the world at our home instead!
